Chronic Kidney disease – almost all dialysis pts and most with chronically elevated KFTs have a Trop above the upper limit of normal. This is usually stable (no increase or decrease over time)
Good point, I was too focused on acute causes! CKD is added to the list!
Anyone else have any other causes?
COPD exacerbations, Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and prolonged exercise (i.e. marathon running) can also bump your trop acutely.
